Our entire process is built on engaging the people who will be impacted most by your brand—your team, key stakeholders and customers—to unlock the deeper truths and insights about who you are and what makes you unique. We bring these different people together at key moments throughout our process to help generate clarity, momentum and branding that has enduring value. This way of working is built on three key practices:

1 | Get in the same room.

You can learn a lot about a company and their customers by reading research decks and trend reports. But you can’t learn everything. You also have to interact with them. Hear them in their own words. So whether in person or online, we bring groups together through collaborative workshops called blitzes to help us build strategies that leverage their knowledge and insights.

2 | Create with everyone.

Everyone experiences branding every day. And we believe you don’t have to be a branding expert to bring a valuable perspective to brand work. So we design ways to include clients and their customers in our creative process. Rather than only share finished ideas, we share in-progress ideas so we can collaborate on the making of creative work and ultimately make it stronger.

3 | Say “Yes, and.”

The purpose of branding is to differentiate. So how do you get to the type of ideas that will stand out in the marketplace? Stop saying, “no, but.” In improv, they teach people to always add to what someone else has said, to say “yes, and.” This is the only way to keep an improv going. And we use it to keep pushing ourselves to express a client’s value in more impactful ways.
